She may have been anointed with the title of Mahamandaleshwar by Juna Akhada, the biggest Akhada of Sanyasis, but doubt still persists on whether Radhe Ma would be participating in the Shahi Snan (Royal bath) as per Akhada tradition during Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. In the first Peshwai (royal procession) held at Prayagraj by Akhada in which over 50 Mahamandaleshwars participated with their followers in chariots, Radhe Ma was missing. It is learnt that since she has not taken to saffron robe as other Mahamandaleshwars and continued to wear her typical blood red attire, she would not be allowed to take part in procession during Kumbh Mela. However, if sources are to be believed, Radhe Ma has announced that she would participate in third Shahi Snan slated to be held on February 10.
As per the Akhada traditions one can hold camp in Kumbhnagar in the land allotted by the Akhada and hold discourses for the religious seekers. The national spokesperson of Juna Akhada, Swami Vidyanand Saraswati told The Pioneer that the Akhada has allotted land to all the Mahamandaleshwars and even Radhe Ma can come and participate in Kumbh Mela. She may join the peshwai and shahi snan but she will have to come as per the protocols of the Akhada, insisted Vidyanand. “We are not concerned whether she comes for all snans and peshwais but if she comes, she will have to be dressed in ochre.”
Notably, self proclaimed god woman Radhey Ma had taken initiation from Juna Akhada in the Kumbh Mela of 2010 in Haridwar. She was stripped off the title of Mahamandaleshwar in 2012 soon after being given the same. Read more posts… PNS/Haridwar
