The Indian Postal Department released a special commemorative postal envelope featuring Kumaun University, recognising the academic excellence and social contribution of the university.
The Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Tourism, Ajay Tamta along with the Nainital MLA Sarita Arya, chief postmaster general of Uttarakhand Shashi Shalini and director of ARIES, Manish Naja was present on the occasion.
Tamta said that this stamp release event signified the rich academic tradition and cultural heritage of Kumaun University and its continuous service to the society.
The vice-chancellor, KU, Diwan Singh Rawat thanked the Indian Postal Department for releasing the stamp.
