The portals of Lord Tungnath temple, called the third Kedar, have been ceremonially closed for the winter at11:30 AM on Thursday. This year, more than 150,000 devotees visited the shrine.
Over 500 devotees were present during the portal-closure ceremony.
The procession carrying the idol of the Lord will reach Shri Markateshwar Temple, Makhumath-the winter abode- on November 8. From that day, the winter worship of Lord Tungnathji will begin.
The temple committee members stated that the winter pilgrimage would also be encouraged this year.
