Portals of Madmaheshwar temple closed for winter

The portals of the Lord Madmaheshwar temple were ceremonially closed for the winter months at 8 AM on Tuesday on the occasion of Margashirsha Krishna Chaturdashi and Swati Nakshatra. The entire temple complex was decorated with flowers. Over 350 devotees, senior functionaries of Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), Forest department officials and officers of the district administration were present during the portal-closing ceremony.
The process began at 7 AM and the portals were closed at exactly 8 AM. Thereafter, the palanquin carrying the deity proceeded towards its first stop Gaundar in a ceremonial procession.
