Police seize 50 vehicles for illegal mining and overloading

Police seized 50 vehicles for illegal mining, overloading and violation of traffic rules across Dehradun district on Wednesday. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said that all station in-charges have been directed to conduct drives and take strict action against illegal mining and associated activities. Following these directions, police teams in all station areas carried out a coordinated campaign on Wednesday.
The teams targeted goods carrying vehicles like trucks, tractors and dumpers that could be involved in illegal mining and overloading besides overspeeding and other traffic violations. Singh said that during the drive, police seized 50 dumpers, trucks and tractor trolleys found in violation of the rules.
The campaign aimed to ensure compliance with mining and traffic regulations and reduce risks caused by reckless driving. He stated that such operations will continue and urged transporters and drivers to follow all regulations to avoid legal action against them.
