The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has written a letter to the governor and demanded that the Vanbhulpura violence should be investigated by a sitting judge of the High Court and that the minister Ganesh Joshi should be removed from the State cabinet.

The vice president (Organisation) of State Congress Mathura Dutt Joshi said that the PCC president in his letter has condemned the Vanbhulpura incident. Mahara also informed the governor that after the incident cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi tried to give an unfortunate twist to the incident by blaming the Congress party while speaking on a TV channel.  He said that Joshi has tried to defile the secular image of the Congress party. The PCC president said that the sentiments of the Congress party workers have been hurt by the comments made by the minister. He said that Joshi’s comments have not only undermined the reputation associated with the position of a cabinet minister but have also tried to disturb the communal harmony in the State.  Mahara said that Joshi has no moral right to continue in the office and he should immediately be dismissed from his position.

The PCC president said that the incident clearly shows the failure of the local administration and State government.  In the letter Mahara requested the governor that being the constitutional guardian of the State he should order the investigation of the incident by a sitting judge of the HC.
