Police free vehicles stuck due to snowfall near Dhanaulti

The snowfall experienced in various mountainous areas on Thursday caused considerable problems for motorists. More than three dozen vehicles were stuck in the snow between Buranskhanda and Dhanaulti due to heavy snow. On Friday, the police team reached the spot and tried to clear the snow and bring the tourists to safe spots using JCB machines.At the same time, incoming traffic was stopped from moving further than Buranskhanda to Dhanaulti due to slippery condition of the road. Meanwhile some tourists walked their way toward Dhanaulti to enjoy the first snowfall of the year.

According to the police post in-charge Jogendra Yadav, three JCBs were deployed to clear the road from Suvakholi to Dhanaulti. The work of clearing the snow was on and the officials said that it would take the whole day to clear the snow. Meanwhile, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) came to the rescue of 12 persons who were stuck with their vehicles due to snowfall near Radi Top in Uttarkashi. The SDRF personnel rescued the people who were travelling in about four vehicles as part of a marriage party.
