The Lakshman Jhula police in Pauri district recovered a missing youth of Punjab within 24 hours of the information being received on the instruction of senior superintendent of police Shweta Choubey.  The recovered youth was handed over to the parents, who expressed their thanks to district police for their efficient work.

The Lakshman Jhula police station received information on the weekend that one car having Punjab number plate PB 08CD 5225 was parked in a suspicious condition in the middle of the road ahead of Bhutnath temple on Neelkanth barrage bypass. The police station in-charge inspector on getting this information reached the spot with force and found that the car was parked and unlocked in the middle of Bhutnath Road .The police found few clothes, belt and a bag scattered on the road near the car. The police found a passport and a high school certificate inside the bag identifying the holder as Vinay Kumar, resident of Jalandhar cantonment, Punjab. The police station in-charge informed the higher authourity about this matter, on which SSP Shweta Choubey instructed him to constitute a team to recover the missing youth. The police team went into action in search of the missing youth and got the mobile number from the transport department on the basis of the registration number of the car. However, his phone was found to be not reachable. The police contacted his father who told the police that on November 11 Vinay had gone to Amritsar from Jalandhar but had not returned till now. He said that his son had an inclination towards spiritual matters and was silent for nearly one week in the home. His friends had said that Vinay had been indifferent and quiet for about one month. The district police, water police, SDRF and fire service searched for the missing youth in the forest, river and Ghats after which they finally succeeded in finding him near Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh. The recovered Vinay told the police that he was in depression and inclined towards spiritualism and wanted to remain alone. This is why he had come to Lakshman Jhula without informing his parents and had kept his mobile phone switched off. The police handed over the youth to his parents.
