Haridwar police arrested two accused who were allegedly in possession of 13 kilogrammes of ganja from the Jwalapur area of the district. The senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said that all police station in-charges of the district have been directed to take action against drug smuggling and substance abuse under the Drugs Free Devbhoomi Mission 2025 of the State government to make the state drug free.
Under this campaign, the police nabbed two accused who have been identified as Vikas Kumar and Sachin Kumar from the Jwalapur area who belong to Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur districts of Uttar Pradesh respectively. He said that both accused were nabbed near Dalalpul underpass in Jawalapur area on Tuesday after the police got a tip off about their arrival in the area. He said that they were found to be in possession of a total of 13 kilogrammes of Ganja. The police will interrogate them regarding Ganja and other illegal drugs they might be involved in smuggling to other areas. A case has been registered against both under relevant acts at Jwalapur Kotwali and further action will be taken accordingly by the police, added Singh.
