Police arrest three more accused in Doon’s registry fraud case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) busted a gang that made fake documents of land in Dehradun worth crores of rupees. The land belongs to an NRI woman who lives in England. The gang members closely worked with the main accused in Dehradun’s registry fraud case Kanwarpal Singh alias KP Singh and advocate Kamal Virmani and others to carry out this fraud, claimed the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh. He said that it was revealed in the interrogation of accused Ajay Mohan Paliwal who was arrested on October 6 that he was a forensic expert who along with accused Virmani, KP Singh and others had copied writing and signatures in fake deeds of many lands and earned crores of rupees by fraudulently selling the lands. He revealed during the interrogation that three men forged the documents of about 2.5 bighas of land on Rajpur Road in front of Madhuban Hotel owned by a woman named Raksha Sinha who reportedly lives in England. The gang placed the documents in the registry office after forging the documents with the help of certain officials. These three accused identified as Sanjay Kumar Sharma (48) and Satish Kumar (60) from Muzaffarnagar and Omveer Tomar (67) from Dehradun’s Defense Colony allegedly forged the documents with the help of the many main accused in Dehradun’s registry fraud case and crores of rupees, said SSP. He said that the three accused were arrested on Sunday and more arrests are expected in the case soon.
