PM dedicates 1st unit of THDCIL’s 1320 MW Khurja Super TPP

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the first unit (660 MW) of THDC India Limited’s maiden Thermal Power Project- 1320 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) located in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh- along with other projects of the State. “This is a big step towards fulfilling the energy needs of Uttar Pradesh. After these power plants, the availability of electricity in Uttar Pradesh will increase further. This will also give impetus to the industries here,” he said in his inaugural address. Notably, the PM had laid the foundation stone of this mega plant in 2019.
The senior THDCIL officials hailed it as a milestone, stating that it was a testament to their commitment to timely execution, engineering excellence and nation-building. “With the commissioning of this 660 MW unit, THDCIL’s total installed capacity increases from 1587 MW to 2247 MW,” one of them said. Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath and deputy chief ministers- Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak.
