Planned Cong protest a political drama- BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party has termed the protests planned on June 13 by the Congress against its leader Rahul Gandhi being summoned by the Enforcement Directorate a political drama. Taking a dig at the Congress, the BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that it appears as if during their recent Chintan Shivir, the Congress leaders contemplated solely on how to prevent the Gandhi family members from being jailed on allegations of corruption.

Questioning the intentions of the Congress leaders making statements on planned protest, Chauhan said that most such local leaders are considering the protest a golden opportunity to digest the embarrassing defeat of their candidate in the Champawat Assembly by-poll. “Why are they afraid of being questioned by the ED if Sonia Gandhi and Rahul have done nothing wrong in the National Herald case? Why are they making an unnecessary attempt to pressurize the investigating agency by staging protests outside its office on the day of the questioning? The frustration of the Congress is understandable because they fully know the involvement of their top leadership in corruption. This is why the Congress did not hold such demonstrations on any other issue after repeated electoral defeats except on the issue of the Gandhi family members being called for questioning,” said Chauhan. He alleged that the Congress is attempting to stage a political drama through this protest to make its supreme leaders appear like victims. However, the citizens are aware now and such gimmicks will not work. This is the reason why the Congress, which turns its face away from reality, is consistently shrinking in India’s political map, said the BJP State media in-charge.
