Congress launches social media campaign in U’khand

With twin objectives of getting on equal footings with the ruling BJP on social media and increasing the membership of the party, the Uttarakhand Congress launched the “Join Congress Social Media Campaign” on Thursday. The punch line of the campaign is ‘Save democracy, Save India’. The party aims to corner the ruling party on the issues of public interest and create a base for itself in the public especially youth.

Speaking on the occasion, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Pritam Singh said that social media is a very important tool and with the campaign the Congress party would corner the BJP on the issues of public interest. He said that the role of social media cannot be overlooked by any political party. Expressing happiness at the start of the campaign, the leader of opposition (LoP) in Uttarakhand assembly Indira Hridayesh said that the party can get connected with the masses with the help of the campaign. The incharge of the social media campaign, Shilpi Arora said that Uttarakhand has a population of 1.01 crores and  it has 1.29 crore mobile phone connections which means that every person has a mobile phone in the state. She said that the party would carry out a membership campaign on social media. Arora said that a review of the progress of the campaign would be carried out at the end of one month and the party members who would get actively involved in the campaign would be felicitated. The deputy leader of Congress legislature party, Karan Mahra, senior leader Manish Khanduri and others were present on the occasion.

Cong I/C Yadav attends meetings in Doon

The in charge of the Uttarakhand Congress Devendra Yadav visited Dehradun on Thursday. He attended the meetings of the “Chargesheet committee” and the “Programme  implementation committee” at Rajiv Bhawan on the day. The PCC president Pritam Singh, LoP Indira Hridayesh, Manish Khanduri, Vice president Suryakant Dhasmana and other senior party leaders attended these meetings.
