Police arrest two accused of robbing & demolishing house

The police nabbed two accused on Friday for allegedly robbing and demolishing a house in the Clement Town area. The accused along with other gang members were allegedly planning to encroach on the property.

 The police informed that local resident Kusum Kapoor had filed a written complaint that her house in Clement Town was demolished and robbed by a man Amit Yadav along with his companions on January 12. The police filed a case against the accused and on the orders of senior police officials, the investigation was being conducted in association with Haridwar police. The joint teams of Dehradun and Haridwar police arrested two of the accused- Randeep Singh Randhawa and Nandkishore Kala from near Fountain Chowk. The police have also recovered the stolen objects from Tehri district where the gang had hidden them including three almirahs, two couches, one bed, a refrigerator and some furniture among others. The accused revealed during the investigation that they both do property dealing and along with their accomplices, they had planned to rob the said property in Clement Town and demolish it to seize it later for their benefit. As per the police, the culprits had also forged documents to seize the land with the help of an accomplice lawyer.

 The accused informed that when they got to know the woman who lives in the house went to stay at her daughter’s house, they came with trucks, three JCBs and labourers, and demolished the house on January 12. One of the accused sent the stolen items through the truck to one of his father’s acquaintances in Sahastradhara but later shifted it to Tehri after the news spread through the media, informed the police. Investigation is underway and more arrests are expected in the coming days.
