PM Modi’s visit to boost development in U’khand : CM Dhami

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would prove to be a milestone in the development of Uttarakhand. The PM is visiting Kedarnath, Badrinath and Mana village on Friday.

Dhami said that the reconstruction of Kedarnath shrine is going on under the leadership of PM Modi and work on the master plan of Badrinath is also in progress. He said that apart from offering prayers at Kedarnath and Badrinath, the PM would lay the foundation stone of many connectivity projects. Dhami said that the PM would lay the foundation stone of Kedarnath ropeway, Hemkund ropeway and the road widening projects in Mana.

The CM said that the Kedarnath ropeway would be 9.7 kilometres long and would connect Gaurikund with Kedarnath. Once completed this ropeway would reduce the travel from six to seven hours to 30 minutes. The Hemkund ropeway between Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib would be 12.5 kilometres long. This ropeway would slash the travel time from one day to mere 45 minutes.  The ropeway would also connect Ghangaria which is the entrance door for the valley of flowers. Dhami said that the ropeways would provide an environmentally friendly mode of transportation. It would also give an impetus to religious tourism and give a fillip to the economic development of the region.  New employment opportunities would be created by these projects.

 The Uttarakhand CM added that the PM would also inaugurate road widening projects worth Rs 1,000 crore during his visit. The Mana to Mana Pass ( NH 07) and Joshimath to Malari ( NH 107 B) road widening projects would provide all weather connectivity in the border areas that would be strategically very important for the country.
