PAC deployed to maintain order in colony

PAC jawans have been deployed at MDDA Colony in Raipur after tension broke out on Monday between members of two communities following dispute on religious activities being run from a building by the member of a particular community.  A Raipur police station officer said that the situation was now well under control after a meeting was held with members of two communities to resolve the issue in the presence of the administrative officers.

Dalanwala circle officer Jaya Baloni said that members of both the communities were called for the meeting to resolve the dispute. Talks were on while this story was being filed. Tension erupted when one group objected to religious activities being done  from a building located at MDDA Colony in Raipur by members of another community. As the people of both the groups were about to clash police reached the spot along with city magistrate and SDM.

Police said that tension was caused as one group started performing religious activities at a site bought in 2010. A  police officer said that  the situation has been brought under control and to maintain peace, additional police forces have been deployed in the area. Intelligence staffers have also been put on alert.  A Raipur police officer said that no FIR has been registered in the police station so far.
