Overall situation in U’khand quite good: Dr Harsh Vardhan
CM seeks more PPE kits, ventilators & N-95 masks for State
The Union Health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said that overall the situation in Uttarakhand is quite good when it comes to effective control on Covid-19. Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat also said that the situation in the State is currently under control. Stating this in a video conference with the Union Health minister on Tuesday, Rawat also sought more personal protection equipment (PPE) kits, N-95 masks and ventilators for the state.
Rawat informed Vardhan about the steps taken by the state government to control Covid-19 in Uttarakhand. Stating that the situation is under control in the state, the CM said that doctors have been trained for this purpose in each district. Adequate medicines for three months are also available. Rawat requested Vardhan to provide more PPE kits, N-95 masks and ventilators to the state.
He said that the health department and the police are doing commendable work in the state. All the people coming from outside the state are being quarantined. Survey teams are active in all the districts. The Covid-19 doubling rate in the state has also been controlled considerably and is currently 45 days. The government machinery is working with enthusiasm and alertness. Of the 68 positive cases till Tuesday afternoon, 46 persons have recovered, added Rawat.
The Union Health minister said that overall the condition of Uttarakhand is quite good when it comes to effective control on Covid-19. However, more alertness is required in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts. Vardhan further said that soon more PPE kits, N-95 masks, ventilators and other required items would be made available to Uttarakhand. The minister also sought information from the Haridwar chief medical officer Dr Saroj Naithani about measures taken and the current situation.State minister Dhan Singh Rawat, health secretary Nitesh Jha, additional secretary Pankaj Pandey and health DG Dr Amita Upreti were also present in the meeting.
