The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Rekha Arya ordered all district supply officers (DSOs) and agencies to carry out mapping of LPG cylinders of beneficiaries receiving free cooking gas as Antyodaya ration card holders. More than 1.48 lakh beneficiaries of the State have got LPG refilled in their cylinders by December 2022. Arya on Friday held a review meeting at the secretariat here with the DSOs of all districts and representatives of oil companies providing LPG to the beneficiaries. She said that officials concerned must carry out the mapping process of LPG cylinders of beneficiaries to ensure only eligible beneficiaries are getting LPG and the benefit of subsidy under the Antyodaya scheme. She ordered the officials to complete the mapping of all LPG cylinders soon and send a detailed report to respective DSOs to ensure they can carry out the necessary process in time. The minister also instructed the DSOs to compile the data of how many such ration card holders are there in the state whose gas connections are active along with the details whether they are using it or not and asked to send the department a detailed report by March 2023. She said that the government has been making efforts to ensure poor people can afford monthly ration and gas cylinders in time. She directed DSOs to widely publicise the information about the scheme in their respective districts to raise awareness among the general public. Arya said that over 1.48 lakh Antyodaya card holders have refilled their cylinders for free under the scheme in the present financial year so far and have also received subsidies in their respective bank accounts.
