Only 15 new cases and 35 recoveries in U’khand on Sunday

In what could be viewed as good news on a day when disaster struck Uttarakhand, only 15 persons tested positive for Covid-19 while 35 recovered from it in the state on Sunday. Four patients of the disease were also reported to have died on the day. Meanwhile, 845 persons were vaccinated against Covid in 66 sessions on Sunday taking the total number of beneficiaries vaccinated to 74,407 in a total of 1,345 sessions.

According to the health department, the total cumulative Covid cases detected in the state so far are 96,493 out of which 92,554 have recovered and 1,668 have died. The recovery percentage is currently at 95.92 per cent while the mortality rate is at 1.73 per cent. Of the persons found positive for the disease on Sunday, five were reported from Nainital district, four each from Dehradun and Haridwar, and one each from Rudraprayag and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Zero positive cases were reported on the day from Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Tehri and Uttarkashi districts. At present there are 912 active cases of Covid-19 in the state. These include 141 in Haridwar, 126 in Nainital, 120 in Bageshwar, 113 in Udham Singh Nagar and 105 in Dehradun district. Among the other districts, there are 97 in Almora, 15 in Chamoli, 13 in Champawat, 31 in Pauri, 73 in Pithoragarh, 21 in Rudraprayag, 39 in Tehri and 18 in Uttarkashi.
