Tuesday, 19 SEPTEMBER 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

On the first death anniversary of Ankita Bhandari the Uttarakhand Congress reiterated its demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into her alleged murder.  Interacting with the media persons at the headquarters of State Congress, the party vice president Surya Kant Dhasmana said on Monday that people of the State want that the truth should come out in the heinous crime and it can be done only by a CBI inquiry monitored by a sitting judge of the High Court.

He said that the State government and the BJP are engaged in shielding the VIP, the mention of which was made by Ankita in her last chat. Dhasmana said that everyone knows that Ankita was murdered by Pulkit Arya whose family was associated with the BJP and RSS.

Making reference to a recent letter by the director general of the Agriculture department in which he sought information from all chief agriculture officers about the procurement of agriculture tools, manure and seeds, the Congress leader said that the letter proves that the directorate is unaware of the purchases made in the districts. He claimed that a major scam will get unearthed if investigation of manure, seeds and equipment is done. He said that many complaints of irregularity in the agriculture department are being received.

Dhasmana said that the dengue has assumed epidemic proportions in the State and the health department is hiding the real data of patients. He said that the Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat is making lofty claims on government efforts to control dengue but the fact is that large numbers of patients are not getting admissions in the hospitals of the State.

He said that the poor patients are bearing the brunt of the disease. Dhasmana said that the jumbo pack of platelets is very costly and is out of the reach of poor patients. Dhasmana said that he will try to help the poor patients with the help of Hans foundation, IMA and his Devbhoomi Manav Sansadhan trust
