One more dengue case reported in Dehradun

One new case of dengue was reported in the Dehradun district on Tuesday. The Dehradun Chief Medical Officer (CMO)  Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma said that on Tuesday an individual tested positive for dengue and was hospitalised in Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital for treatment. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases (ELISA-positive) to 68, which includes 38 cases in Dehradun and 30 cases from other districts or States.

Sharma further informed that there are currently five patients hospitalised at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. On Tuesday, 134 dengue samples were collected, increasing the cumulative total to 5,015 samples collected so far. Importantly, there have been no reported deaths related to dengue so far, he said.

Additionally, on Tuesday, ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists) and Health department volunteers conducted 20,806 house surveys to check for mosquito larvae. Among these, 63 houses tested positive for larvae. The health department has completed a total of 4,46,256 house surveys, with 1,254 of those showing positive results. Further, on Tuesday, ASHA workers and volunteers inspected 1,27,746 containers, of which 73 were found to be positive for larvae. To date, they have surveyed 27,71,428 containers, resulting in 1,545 testing positive.
