One more dengue case reported in Dehradun

One new case of dengue was reported in the Dehradun district on Thursday. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma informed that one individual hospitalised on Thursday after turning out to be dengue positive is being treated at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. This latest case raises the cumulative dengue cases (ELISA-positive) to 60, which consists of 35 cases from Dehradun and 25 cases from other districts or States.

Sharma further said that currently, there are four patients who are hospitalised- two at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and two at Himalayan Hospital. Additionally, he said that 168 dengue samples were collected on Thursday alone, bringing the cumulative total to 4,406 samples collected thus far. Importantly, there have been no deaths reported related to dengue up to this point, he said.

Additionally, on Thursday, ASHAs and Health department volunteers carried out 18,442 house surveys to check for mosquito larvae. Among these, 23 houses tested positive for larvae. It is important to mention that the department has completed a cumulative total of 3,53,184 house surveys, with 963 of those showing positive results. On the same day, ASHA workers and volunteers also inspected 1,20,831 containers, of which 30 were identified as positive for larvae. To date, they have surveyed 2,139,648 containers, resulting in 1,208 testing positive.

It will be recalled that this week, on Monday, three cases of dengue were reported positive, whereas on Tuesday and Wednesday, one and two cases of dengue came positive, respectively
