One more dengue case reported in Dehradun

One more case of dengue was reported in  Dehradun district on Friday. The Dehradun Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma informed that one dengue patient was hospitalised in the district on Friday. This brings the cumulative number of ELISA-positive dengue cases to 41, which includes 24 patients from Dehradun and 17 patients from other districts or States.

Currently, there are 10 patients hospitalised including eight at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, one at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh and one at Himalayan Hospital.  Sharma also said that on Friday, 97 dengue samples were collected. A total of 2,544 samples ave been collected in the district so far. He further confirmed that there have been no reported deaths from dengue so far.

Additionally, on Friday, a total of 2,800 house surveys were conducted by ASHAs and Health department volunteers to check for larvae. In the survey, workers have not found any larvae. It is pertinent to mention that to prevent dengue, people should wear long-sleeved clothing, prevent water stagnation in their surroundings and consult a doctor promptly if they suffer from symptoms such as headache, fever, stomach pain and others.
