‘One Fast Every Month’ mega campaign to be launched in Delhi on Dec 12

A two-day ‘International Janmangal Convention’ centred on the theme: ‘The Right Vision of Public Welfare: Fasting, Meditation, Yoga and Indigenous Thought’ will be organised at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi under the inspiration of the Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev and the Jain monk, Antarmana Acharya Prasanna Sagar.

The organisers said that the convention slated on December 12 and 13 would mark the launch of the ‘One Fast Every Month’ mega campaign. Among the dignitaries who will attend the programme are the   Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla; Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari; Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat; Union Minister Bhupender Yadav; chief minister Delhi, Rekha Gupta and Acharya Balkrishna. Besides them, a large number of MPs, ministers of Delhi, scholars and ascetics will attend the inaugural programme of the campaign.    Moreover, Acharya Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham will virtually address the programme.

Notably, Acharya Prasanna Sagar is reverently called ‘Upvaas Sadhana Shiromani’ for his silent fast of 557 days-a rare feat of penance- and more than 3,500 fasts till date.

The organisers further said that lakhs of people from India and across the world are expected to participate in the mass movement.
