One dead after bus hits tractor-trolley on Dehradun-Haridwar highway

A person died in a collision between a bus and a tractor-trolley on the Dehradun-Haridwar Highway on Thursday morning. According to officials, the driver of a bus reportedly lost control and crashed into a tractor-trolley loaded with sugarcane near Nunawala at about 5:30 AM. The bus driver died on the spot, while the conductor was injured.

   Police said the accident happened close to the Nunawala Gurdwara. The bus was plying from Delhi to Dehradun. The driver has been identified as Ghaziabad resident Yogendra (52). After the crash, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team reached the spot and rescued him from inside the damaged bus. He was taken to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

  The conductor, Dilshan (32) from Hapur district in Uttar Pradesh, was also injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. Police confirmed that all passengers on the bus are safe and none of them suffered serious injuries. The investigation into how the accident happened has already started.

   Police outpost in-charge Naveen Dangwal said that police and SDRF teams reached the accident site and carried out the rescue operation. Officials are now trying out the exact reason behind the accident.
