One person died while three others, including a woman, were injured when the car they were travelling in had a head-on collision with a dumper near Chilkiya on Kashipur highway. The car from Delhi was heading towards Gairsain when the accident happened. According to police, the accident occurred at about 5 AM on Tuesday. All the injured were rushed to Ramnagar Hospital where doctors declared the driver- identified as Narendra Singh, resident of Chaukhutia in Almora district- dead.
Police further said that Jagat Singh (50), a resident of Delhi, was going to Gairsain with his wife, Sunita (49) and brother-in-law, Vikram Singh (32).
After the accident, the police impounded the dumper. A senior police officer said that the relatives of the deceased have been informed while they were probing the accident.
