Officials to work under one roof for Rispana-Bindal elevated corridor project under DM’s direct supervision

The Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal directed that the sub divisional magistrates and all nodal officers and personnel involved in the Rispana-Bindal elevated corridor project will work together under one roof in his direct supervision to ensure its timely execution. During a meeting held on Thursday, the DM said that coordination among departments is essential to bring the project to the ground. The agencies concerned along with the Public Works Department presented the project through a detailed presentation. The DM instructed that a fixed location be selected where officials from departments such as Revenue, Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA), Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) and Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) will jointly conduct meetings, maintain records and carry out scheduled field visits. He organised teams sector-wise and zone-wise to handle on-site activities such as assessment of affected land and structures and to submit progress reports. Bansal instructed the special land acquisition officer to accelerate land acquisition proceedings. He also asked the MCD and MDDA to submit detailed land bank reports within three days. The DM informed that the project includes the construction of an 11-kilometre, four-lane elevated corridor over the Rispana river with an estimated cost of Rs 2,500 crore and a 15-kilometre stretch over the Bindal river costing Rs 3,750 crore. The project requires relocation of electricity lines, high-tension cables and sewer lines currently located within the river zones. Retaining walls, flood protection structures and environmental restoration and beautification work along the rivers are also part of the plan. In the Rispana corridor, 44.6421 hectares of land are affected, including 43.5427 hectares of government land and 1.099 hectares of private land. A total of 1,120 structures will be impacted, including 771 permanent and 349 temporary ones. The Bindal corridor will affect 43.9151 hectares of land, comprising 26.1926 hectares of government land, 17.7225 hectares of private land and 2.25 hectares of forest land. A total of 1,494 structures will be affected, including 934 permanent and 560 temporary ones.
