None can capture an inch of India’s land- Rajnath Singh

Defence minister Rajnath Singh said that not an inch of India’s land can be captured by any foreign nation. He said this after unveiling the statue of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali, hero of the Peshawar revolt and freedom fighter on his death anniversary at his village Peethsain in Pauri district on Friday.

Paying homage to Garhwali, the Defence minister said that he was a real soldier and also a leading freedom fighter. Singh said that during the past seven and a half years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, work has been undertaken on mission mode. Considering the strategic importance of Uttarakhand, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is constructing 1,000 kilometres of road in the state.Construction of these roads will benefit the nation from the security and strategic angle while also benefitting the people of the state.

Referring to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Singh said that he had known Dhami since the days of his student politics. He has energy, capacity and the spirit to do something. “In cricket terms, I would say Dhami has been brought in the last over of a 20-20 match and he is a strong batsman. We are confident that he will meet the expectations of the people,” said Singh.

CM Dhami inaugurated the Mukhyamantri Swasth Yuva, Swasth Uttarakhand Yojana stating that open gyms will be made in 7,795 Gram Panchayats under this scheme. He announced that the maximum limit of 50 per cent subsidy for purchasing electric luxury bus under the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali tourism self employment scheme will be raised from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. Similarly, the 33 per cent subsidy maximum limit of Rs 14 lakh will be raised to Rs 20 lakh for non-vehicle tourism enterprises in mountainous regions. Dhami said that since he had assumed charge, the state government has been consistently taking various decisions in public interest. He stressed that government orders will be issued for every announcement made by the government.

Union minister of state for Defence and Tourism, Ajay Bhatt also expressed his views on the occasion. BJP State president Madan Kaushik, Garhwal MP Teerath Singh Rawat, cabinet ministers Harak Singh Rawat, Subodh Uniyal, Ganesh Joshi, Dhan Singh Rawat and others were also present on the occasion.
