The Bharatiya Janata Party launched its formal Assembly election campaign in all the 70 constituencies on Tuesday.  The party’s state spokesman Suresh Joshi informed that in the Garhwal region, the Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur launched the poll campaign at Vikasnagar while in the Kumaon region, the Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched the campaign in Haldwani constituency. The two chief ministers addressed public meets and spoke about the works and achievements of the BJP governments in the state and centre while seeking the support of the voters. Similarly, Union minister and the party’s state election in-charge Pralhad Joshi undertook campaigning in the Dharmpur constituency. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami campaigned in the Rajpur Road constituency. Door to door campaigns were conducted by the party in all the 70 Assembly constituencies.

Joshi further said that as part of its campaign the BJP will be aiming to reach every voter to the Panna and booth in-charge level. In order to achieve this, the party will use a new tele-conference technology to reach 50,000 to 90,000 people with one call to convey its message. Using such means, the party is aiming to reach out to nearly all of the 80 lakh voters in the state, he said.
