No death, 37 new Covid cases in U’khand on Wednesday

The state health department reported 37 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 14 recoveries from the disease in Uttarakhand on Wednesday. No death from the disease was reported on the day by the department.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state has now increased to 3,41,573 while a total of 3,27,558 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state 7357 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.90 and the sample positivity rate on Wednesday was at 0.18 per cent in the state. The authorities collected 18,090 samples in different parts of the state on Wednesday.

The state health department reported 11 new patients from Nainital, seven from Dehradun, four each in Haridwar and Rudraprayag, three from Pauri, two each from Chamoli, Pithoragarh and Uttarkashi and one each at Udham Singh Nagar and Tehri on Wednesday. No new cases of Covid 19 were reported from Almora and Bageshwar districts on the day.

The state now has 643 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 253 patients while Haridwar in the second position with 70 active cases. Champawat and Nainital have 48 each, Udham Singh Nagar 46, Chamoli 33, Rudraprayag 31, Uttarkashi 20, Tehri 18, Pauri 13, Almora nine and Bageshwar six active cases of the disease.

The state reported no new cases of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) and death of one patient from the disease on Wednesday. A total of 548 patients of Black Fungus have been reported till date in the state and out of them 120 have died. The ongoing vaccination drive 42,022 people were vaccinated in 383 sessions held on the day. A total of 41,46,982 people have been partially vaccinated in the state while 12,53,770 beneficiaries have received both doses of the vaccine.
