Nepal delegation stresses on bilateral cooperation in hospitality sector

In latest news from Doon, a delegation from various political parties of Nepal led by the chief minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah visited the Institute of Hotel Management, Dehradun on Friday as part of their itinerary to India. The delegates comprises the Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Bir Bahadur Thapa; leader of the Parliamentary Party, Naresh Shahi; chief secretary, Government of Sudurpaschim Province, Kamal Prasad Pokhrel Sharma and political advisor of the chief minister, Jitu Upadhyaya among others.
The secretary, State Tourism department, Sachin Karve apprised the delegates of the new Uttarakhand Tourism Policy 2023 which aims to foster sustainable and responsible tourism, leveraging private sector investment while preserving the State’s natural and cultural resources. He also emphasised that the policy provides incentives and subsidies for specific tourism-related investments, including investments in unexplored areas, heli-tourism, caravan tourism and adventure activities.
In a step towards enhancing cross-border cooperation, the CM of Sudurpaschim Province, Nepal, highlighted the importance of deepening bilateral ties between Nepal and India, particularly focusing on collaboration in the hospitality sector and skill development initiatives.
Among those present on the occasion was the State Cabinet minister, Subodh Uniyal.
