Nationwide tourism roadshow campaign starts in Delhi/ NCR

In a first of its kind initiative to take Uttarakhand’s tourism richness across the country, a pan-India, coordinated multi-city road show campaign was launched on Saturday from Delhi in the presence of the State Tourism minister Satpal Maharaj and some senior Uttarakhand Tourism officers. As per the minister, over 250 stakeholders from the industries related to tourism in Delhi-NCR participated in the road show. They included tour operators, hotel operators and adventure sports institution operators. He said that the objective behind it is to maintain the tourism momentum alive round the year. He further stated that this type of pan-India road show campaign for tourism purpose is being held for the first time at the behest of any State government in the country. “Such campaigns will be held in other metropolises in the months to come,” he added.
Speaking of the ‘unique’ initiative, the secretary, Uttarakhand Tourism, Dheeraj Singh Garbyal said that as envisaged by the chief minister, the campaign is meant to boost the prospects of tourism in its multiple aspects like adventure tourism, wellness tourism, winter tourism, cultural tourism and spiritual tourism across the country to make the vision of Tourism in Uttarakhand for 365 days a year a reality. Besides, it would help Uttarakhand emerge as a wedding destination, spiritual mega circuit and international tourism gateway, he added.
