The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt has opined that those who do not unfurl the tricolour at their homes will not be trusted by the nation. Talking to the media after arriving here on Wednesday, Bhatt said, “The home that doesn’t have a tricolour cannot be trusted by the nation. What problem should one have in raising the national flag at home? People sacrificed their lives with the tricolour in their hand. In this Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the national flag is the symbol of patriotism. We exhort all citizens to put up the national flag,” said Bhatt.

Earlier, Bhatt was welcomed by the party workers and participated in a Tiranga Yatra which passed through various localities of the city. Speaking on the occasion he said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the citizens will participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign from August 13 to 15. For the first time since the nation gained independence, the citizens are being allowed to unfurl the national flag at their homes, commercial establishments and public places. Stating that this is not the campaign of any political party, he said that all Indians should participate in the campaign. MLA Banshidhar Bhagat, Haldwani mayor Jogendra Pal Singh Rautela, other public representatives and local office bearers of the party were also among those present on the occasion.
