Nanhi Dunya marks 72 years of existence

Nanhi Dunya– the international movement of children and their friends celebrated 72 years of its existence on Wednesday with a cultural programme. The State Urban Development and Housing minister Madan Kaushik inaugurated the event as its chief guest along with deputy surveyor general of India (administration) SK Sarkar and additional director general of police Ashok Kumar. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, he appreciated the efforts of Nanhi Dunya in the sphere of education, child welfare, art, and environmental awareness. He also gave away certificates to the participants on the occasion.

The cultural programme on the occasion included a skit by children with special needs. Folk dances and songs from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan were also performed on the occasion. Apart from these, dances of countries like Poland, Georgia, Nepal, Iran, Kenya and Ukraine were also staged during the event. Chief promoter Kiran Ulfat Goyal proposed the vote of thanks. It should be mentioned here thatNanhi Dunya was founded in 1946 by professor Lekh Raj Ulfat who was later joined by his wife Sadhna Ulfat. Read more posts…
