The National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) will organise a two-day ‘Apple Festival 2.0’ from October 9 to 10, 2025, in Dehradun. According to officials, NABARD previously held a one-day ‘Apple Festival 1.0’ last year. This festival aims to provide a platform that connects apple and kiwi-producing farmers, as well as farmer producer organisations, in the State of Uttarakhand directly with customers. Encouraged by the success of the first festival, ‘Apple Festival 2.0’ is being organised this year.
Officials stated that the festival will feature ‘A’ grade Royal Delicious, Red Delicious, and Golden Delicious apples produced by NABARD-supported farmer producer organisations from Harshil valley. Additionally, kiwi fruit produced naturally by farmers in Kapkot, as well as various excellent hill products—including walnuts, kidney beans, GI-tagged items, juices, pickles, handloom products and herbs—will be available for purchase from other farmer producer organisations and self-help groups.
