The Tehri district administration provided relief regarding land mutations for New Tehri residents with the district magistrate Nitika Khandelwal having directed an additional fortnight extension in the time limit for mutations.
She informed that the work of mutation of all plots and registration of flats in New Tehri is currently in progress.
As per the information received from the district administration, the Rehabilitation department contacted about 150 people under a campaign launched from January 1 during which 44 people have so far submitted their documents for mutation work in Tehri Tehsil which have been sent to the Rehabilitation office for verification.
It was informed that those who have not yet submitted documents could avail the benefit of the scheme for 15 more days.
The DM has appealed to all residents of the town to obtain mutations of their landed properties within the stipulated additional deadline. “Failure to do so could lead to difficulties in obtaining benefits from legal, administrative or government schemes related to the property in the future,” she said.
The administration also clarified that the relevant departments have been directed to simplify and make the mutation process transparent so that citizens do not face any inconvenience. “Cases of citizens who apply on time with all necessary documents will be resolved promptly,” she said.
