44 new Covid patients, Omicron patients test negative

A total of 44 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the state on Tuesday while 28 patients of the disease recovered on the same day. Meanwhile, the RT-PCR test report of the four persons who were earlier found positive for the Omicron variant turned out negative with all the four persons said to be completely healthy.

According to the Health department, of the 44 new cases reported on Tuesday, 25 are from Dehradun district, one from Chamoli, three each from Champawat and Haridwar, ten from Nainital and one each from Tehri and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Currently there are 227 active cases in the state with a recovery percentage of 95.99. Of the active cases, 85 are in Dehradun, 47 in Nainital, two in Almora, four in Champawat, 29 in Haridwar, five in Pauri, 18 in Pithoragarh, seven in Tehri, one in Uttarkashi and 29 in Udham Singh Nagar.

Meanwhile, the RT-PCR test reports of four persons who had earlier tested positive for Omicron have turned out negative. Health secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey informed that the 23 year old woman who had returned from Scotland on December 12 and whose Covid report was found positive for the Omicron variant was self-isolated for 14 days. After recovery, her RT-PCR test report has also come out negative and she along with her parents are in a normal condition. Similarly, the RT-PCR reports of a Haridwar resident who had returned from Yemen and a man and woman found positive for Omicron in Dehradun have also come out negative.
