Multitudes participate in Yoga at Patanjali Wellness Centre

Yoga is part of India’s rich cultural heritage which not only shows the way for disciplined and disease-free living but also a powerful means for connecting humans with nature by resolving the the physical and mental disturbances in people. Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev said this at an event held on International Day of Yoga at the Patanjali Wellness Centre here on Tuesday.

He appreciated the contribution made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for further popularising Yoga across the world. Ramdev said that to mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav crores of people did Yoga in 75 historical, cultural and iconic locations, 500 districts and 5,000 Tehsils across the nation on Tuesday making it appear as India along with the rest of the world was connected by a unifying thread of Yoga. Various Yogic exercises were done by a number of people according to the common Yoga protocol at the wellness centre. Students of Patanjali Gurukulam also exhibited Malkhamb, wrestling, boxing, taekwondo, Surya Namaskar and Yoga Asanas at the event. The integrated therapy of Patanjali Wellness was also broadcast live. Meanwhile, Acharya Balkrishna participated in the International Yoga Day event held at the Red Fort in the national Capital.
