More than 20 lakh students to sing Vande Mataram on November 26 in Uttarakhand

More than 20 lakh students of colleges, schools and universities of the State will take part in singing the national song Vande Mataram on November 26 (Constitution Day). Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat chaired a review meeting of the Higher Education, Sanskrit Education, Education and Medical Education departments at the secretariat on Friday and directed the officers to ensure that the Constitution Day programmes are organised on a massive scale in all the educational institutes of the State. He said that more than 20 Lakh students will sing Vande Mataram at 9:30 AM in their schools, colleges and universities.
The minister said that the governor and chief minister will also take part in the programmes on the day which will be organised in all the institutes right from primary schools to universities of the State.
He said that invitation should be extended to recipients of Padma awards, ministers, MPs, MLAs, Mayors, municipal body chairpersons, district Panchayat presidents, Block Pramukhs and Gram Pradhans.
In the meeting the minister directed the officers that they should ensure that the video recording and photography of the mass singing programme is done. He added that the photographs and videos of the event will also be geo-tagged. He directed the officers to upload excellent videos, photographs and special achievements on the website www.vandemataram150.in and other social media platforms.
He said that nodal officers should be appointed at block and district levels for the programme. Rawat said that the objective of the programme is to inculcate feelings of respect for the Indian constitution and love for the nation among the students.
Secretary Ranjit Sinha and other senior officers of the department attended the meeting.
