More rain likely in various parts of U’khand today

After two days of rainy weather in most parts of the state, light to moderate rain/thunderstorm/snowfall is forecast to occur at a few places in the mountainous of Kumaon region while very light to light rain/thunderstorm/snowfall is likely to occur at

isolated places in the mountains of Garhwal region on Friday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the rest of the state.

The State meteorological centre has also issued a warning about the possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with lighting at isolated places in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat, and Nainital districts. Dehradun is likely to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy sky though thundercloud development is likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 33 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively on Friday.

Meanwhile, on Thursday various places including Tehri, Mukteshwar, Mussoorie, Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Nainidanda, Lansdowne, Pauri, Nainital, Rishikesh and Khatima among others received more than a centimetre of rainfall. Dehradun received 31 mm rainfall while 8.1 mm rainfall was recorded in Pantnagar, 46.8 mm in Mukteshwar and 48.2 mm in New Tehri. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various places were 27.3 degrees Celsius and 17.9 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 23.9 degrees Celsius and 20.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 14 degrees Celsius and 9.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 14.8 degrees Celsius and 12.4 degree Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
