The Congress party has alleged that the ruling BJP in collusion with administration prevented the Congress party agents from entering as many as 50 booths during polling in the Champawat Assembly by election on Tuesday. The party also leveled serious charges of gross violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) on chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami who was the candidate of BJP in the Champawat by-election. The front against the BJP and CM was opened at the state headquarters of state Congress by women leaders of the party on Wednesday. The president of the Mahila Congress, Jyoti Rautela, the spokesperson Garima Dasauni and Godavari Thapli addressed the media on the day. Rautela said that she has returned after extensively campaigning for the Congress party candidate Nirmala Gehtodi in Chamapwat. She said that the administration forcibly closed the election office of Congress candidate on two occasions. She said that the agents of the Congress party were not allowed to enter polling booths. In a serious allegation she claimed that a power outage of three hours was forcibly taken in Champawat on the polling day due to which all the CCTV cameras became non-functional. Rautela said that the elections were rigged in favour of CM Dhami.
The spokesperson Garima Dasauni said that CM was involved in many cases of violation of MCC in the election. She said that the Election Commission (EC) took cognizance  of only one complaint of Congress party when it ordered removal of the nodal officer of CM, Brijlal. Dasauni also objected to decisions of the Dhami government on Uniform Civil Code and three free gas cylinders to the poor which were taken during the MCC for Champawat by election.
