The MLA Championship Trophy, organised as part of the Vidhansabha-level Sports Mahakumbh 2025-26, concluded on Saturday in the Bhatwari development block of Uttarkashi district. In this Sports Mahakumbh, which started on December 30, boys and girls in the under-14 and under-19 age groups participated in various sports competitions, including athletics.
The MLA Suresh Chauhan inaugurated the event which saw multiple competitions among the Nyaya Panchayats involving athletics, kabaddi, kho-kho and cockfight competitions.
The Sports Mahakumbh concluded on Saturday in the presence of the head, Bhatwari block, Mamta Panwar. On this occasion, the MLA’s championship trophy and a cheque for Rs 1 lakh were presented. Panwar said that the successful organisation of MLA Championship Trophy and Sports Mahakumbh has given new impetus to the sports culture in the region and rural talents have got a strong platform to progress.
