PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/ Nainital
In latest news from Uttarakhand, the patients from near and far who throng the Government B D Pandey District Hospital for treatment have been at the receiving end of mismanagement for days. Recently, their plight worsened with the only paediatrician of the hospital being on leave. With no alternative arrangements being put into place, the worried parents of ailing children had to rush to Haldwani, 40 km away from here. Then, the radiologist has gone on leave, forcing the patients coming from far-flung areas for ultrasound examinations to go to Haldwani. They said that the ultrasound facility is available only at B D Pandey Hospital in Nainital.
The chief medical superintendent of the District Hospital, Dr Tarun Kumar Tamta said that the radiologist had gone on casual leave, information of which was received late at night due to which he could not make alternate arrangements.
