Met office issues yellow warning of rain for several U’khand districts

Though the date of monsoon’s advent in Uttarakhand is yet to be officially announced, the rainy spell with varying intensity has been continuing across the State. The regional Met office has issued a fresh yellow alert for several districts like Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Nainital, Champawat and Pithoragarh. As per the warning, these districts may experience heavy rain to be accompanied by thunder and lightning on Wednesday. A few of the spells may be intense to very intense while gusty winds of 40 to 50 km per hour may sweep across isolated places in the hilly and plain districts.
This aside, light to moderate rain / thunderstorm is likely to occur at many places in Chamoli, Bageshwar, Nainital and Champawat districts.
For Dehradun, the Met office forecast partly to generally cloudy sky with likelihood of one or two spells of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 33°C. The minimum temperature recorded in Dehradun on Wednesday is 24.6 degrees Celsius.
