Mercury to dip further, rain likely in some parts of Uttarakhand

Mercury is dipping now in Dehradun as elsewhere in Uttarakhand. As per the regional meteorological center, the trend of the plummeting mercury would now continue. As per the weather forecast issued by the center on Tuesday, it might rain lightly at isolated places in some districts like Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Pithoragarh on Wednesday. Besides, the higher reaches of these districts might experience snowfall too on the day. The rest of the state might have a dry climate though fog would form in the plain areas during the morning hours. Though the climate would remain generally dry in Dehradun on Wednesday mist might envelop a large swathe of the district during the early morning hours on the day, according to the forecast. The mercury would further dip as the minimum might come down to 8 degree Celsius. On Tuesday, the minimum temperature hovered in the neighborhood of 9 degree Celsius. The weather officers said that the real winter has arrived as the gulf between the maximum and the minimum temperature is now narrowing down with every passing day. The weather forecast for Dehradun for Wednesday is partly cloudy sky with possibility of mist forming in the morning hours.  While the maximum temperature is likely to be in the neighborhood of 23 degree Celsius the minimum would settle at 8 degree Celsius on the day, as per the weather forecast.
