Only 28 per cent of the targeted 1 lakh vaccinated

The much hyped mega vaccination campaign undertaken by the Dehradun administration on Monday failed miserably as only 28 per cent of the target was achieved. The health department had planned to vaccinate 1 lakh people on the day but could administer only 28,148 people on the day. In their enthusiasm the authorities had invited chief minister Puskhar Singh Dhami and union minister of state, Ajay Bhatt in a ceremony organised to launch the campaign at government primary school, Rajiv Nagar on Monday.

In the camp the CM reiterated the commitment of his government to complete 100 per cent vaccination of the adult population in the next four months. He said that Bageshwar and Rudraprayag districts have achieved the target of cent percent vaccination. The CM also thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing the required number of vaccine doses to Uttarakhand. Union minister of state for defence and tourism Ajay Bhatt said that the maximum number of vaccination has been done in India. The health minister Dhan Singh Rawat and others were present on the occasion.
