The vice-president, Social Welfare Schemes and Monitoring Committee, Deshraj Karnawal convened a meeting in New Tehri to discuss and resolve the problems of the people belonging to the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes of the district. On this occasion, two persons were given cheques and keys under Atal Awas Yojana. Besides, walking sticks and hearing aids were distributed among some beneficiaries of the Health schemes.
He interacted with the officials of several
departments like Social Welfare, Education, Health, Police, Labour, Animal Husbandry, Child Development, Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and discussed target achievement as regards the social welfare schemes in 2024-25. The Education department was asked to provide data of SC/ST students from class I to XII and ensure that no eligible student is deprived of the benefits of scholarship.
