The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) sealed a telecom tower of Airtel company at Vikasnagar in Dehradun district on Wednesday. The assistant engineer (AE) of the authority MK Joshi informed The Pioneer that the telecom tower located at Canal Road was sealed after the recent complaint from the nearby locals. He said that the tower was erected without the permission of MDDA and the authority had also imposed a penalty on the said company about four months ago. Since the company failed to take cognisance of the matter despite the authority’s warning and locals started complaining too, MDDA officials along with police personnel sealed the tower, stated Joshi. He added that further decision on the matter will be taken by the senior officials.
