Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ conducted a surprise inspection of the ongoing installation work of sheds in shops of the Paltan Bazaar area and directed the senior officials of Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) and associated agencies to finish the work in the stipulated time.
He directed the officials concerned to ensure sheds are installed as per the plan approved by DSCL. He directed them to ensure all the details about the respective shops are inscribed on sheds in Hindi
He also instructed them to speed up the work of electricity fitting and lay underground cables in the excavated places of Paltan Bazaar. He directed them to ensure that local shopkeepers and businessmen face no water drainage issues from drains in Paltan Bazar and surrounding areas due to any construction work being done under smart city projects. The shopkeepers also thanked the mayor for taking regular cognisance of the ongoing work under smart city projects. Many also appreciated him for writing to CM about alleged malpractices in smart city projects. It must be recalled that the mayor had alleged several malpractices regarding the quality of material and financial aspects in the construction works of smart city projects last month. He wrote to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to order an investigation on the matter. The mayor said on Friday that he will raise his voice on the matter again if the officials concerned would not work as per the protocol on time.
