The State Culture minister, Satpal Maharaj lauded the contribution of the revered figure in Buddhism, Ven Kunga Rinchen in the propagation of Buddhism while inaugurating the Sadhna Dhyan Upvan at Chorsa in Nainital district on Thursday. He said that Rinchen had taken Buddhism into in Europe aside from strengthening the Buddhist culture in Nepal, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.
He said that today’s event is not just about the inauguration of a building but a celebration of a spiritual resolve and selfless service. “Rinchen visited remote areas of Uttarakhand for years and provided blankets, ration, medicines and other life-support materials to the needy,” he said, adding that he had shown his deep commitment towards environmental protection since 2008 when he was the principal of Sakya Centre, Rajpur Road, Dehradun. .
